I have a sedan that was hit t-boned on the rear drivers side. Most of the parts have been replaced aside from body panels aesthetically. The car is drivable but has very poor mpg and very rough because of old tires. Driving it also tends to want to veer in different directions when hitting a bump.

I did not get an alignment yet but I feel there may be some wheel set back on the wheel that was hit if I’m eyeballing the evenness of the tires.

My question is, can I do a string alignment to get everything straight as possible and would this help with the thrust angle?

the issue can be misalignment due to bent suspension components, or worn out suspension bushings or bearings. the first thing I would so is get the vehicle lifted with the wheels off and inspect everything in the front and rear suspensions. If you don’t see anything obvious, try to align all 4 wheels.

Ok I think I will do that. Thanks for the reassurance. I will update once I get everything checked out.
